SOMETHING IN THE DRAWING HOWLED. It was so loud and so close that Court jumped. Then a nightmare lurched out of dark border a of the drawing. It was gorilla strong and wolverine fierce and being small on the page didn’t stop it from being huge compared to everything around it.

The monster’s snarling face grew larger and larger as it rushed toward her. then, when it filled the margins of the page, it hit some invisible boundary that stopped it – barely. The paper bulged and rippled, like it was struggling to contain the world inside.
